We stayed in Home Farm, which is on the estate. It was a fantastic place to stay with family. Superb ambience and wonderfully appointed, we really couldn't fault anything.
Great to walk to the main house and grounds, as well as an easy stroll in to Llandeilo.
Ps, the Salutation Inn, is worth popping in to for some fun and laughs with some of the locals.

Dinefwr Park National Nature Reserve is an 800-acre estate, about a mile from the centre of the town of Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire, and is owned by the National Trust. Within the park is Newton House, an 1850s Victorian Gothic mansion. The ruins of Dinefwr Castle are also situated in the grounds of the park, within Castle Woods

We have visited Dynefwr a number of times, but never during Christmas. We chose Boxing Day this time, so we could experience it in all it's festive glory.
A beautiful house, grounds & Castle at any time of year, a Christmas visit, on a very misty day, was something special.
There are numerous walks to enjoy, varying in length & steepness, with accessibility carefully considered. We stuck to the flat this time, due to the mist.
The inside of the house was beautifully decorated in each room, with real Christmas trees adorned with lights & handmade decorations.
The café was open & very busy, offering hot & cold drinks & lots of lovely cakes. Hot food is at a minimum, mainly soup, pasties, sausage rolls & toasties, something for everyone & all very popular.
We definitely encourage a Christmas visit.

We used the NT Autumn Pass to visit. Well worth it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the house & gardens. Good options for tea & cake as I am Gluten and Dairy free. Beautiful walk in the deer park and saw deer. Highly recommended.

Great place to walk, shame you have to buy tickets for the house to use the cafe
